Alright now you got my curiosity up what are the specs on your Spyder?
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

Thanks for the comments guys. It's a South African kit built onto a 1970 KP+L/SA floor pan shortened about 12". It was originally a 1500 SP with single carb but now has a 1641 TP with ported heads and 40DRLA's. The gearbox was a 4.125 1500 but now a 3.875 from a 1600 Ghia. Up front it has an uprated ARB and 4 cut leaves in the top and bottom torsion springs, castor shims and a quick steer. At the back it got a camber compensator.
I use the car in hillclimbs and sprints in a pre 75 road-going sports car class and was fortunate to win the class this year although it was bit of a hollow victory as there wasn't much competion.

Last meeting of the season at Shelsley Walsh. This is a real power hill which I struggle with due to my lack of it. There are no run off's just very solid looking railway sleepers and grass banks to launch you into the scenery.
