Hi,
Where is the best place to mount a fan cooled 72 plate oil cooler (large... about 30cm x 30cm) in a bus?

Owendub, I do not know where you reside, but the owner of Bill and Steves VW, in Downey, Ca, 562-923-3251, has a sweet '71 Bay. This bus has a 72 or 96 plate cooler that is located approx a foot or so ahead of the torsion bar assembly. It sits outside of the frame rail. It is part of the bus' full flow filter system. Be advised though as nice as a place this is, it is a little pricey on the cost of hose, as his is plumbed with braided hose and AN fittings. Give him a call. He is knowedgeable and friendly to chat with. maybe, he can e-mail/fax some pics. And, I remember Gene Bergs old '68 bus had its cooler, which I believe was an old Thermo Chem positioned in the left side of the engine compartment. This engine started as a 1700 with dual Weber Specials and was later updated to 1900cc, to include big valve heads, I believe. Bill
