The US brochures confirm that, and so does the 412 owner's manual. My 411 owner's manual is from Canada, and it seems they did receive different trim packages.

The theme in the German movie is in fact totally the same as in this cartoon from the '30's(?) but the original does not have a 411...

Came across that same picture recently on a Norwegian weather-forecasting website. A date of 20-06-2011 was mentioned, but i sadly do not understand the language. Did this happen recently or did they just refer to an incident from long ago?

Dawie,
the weather site is were the pic comes from but there is no text on that page referring to the pic so sorry, I do not know anything about it. Have not heard of any recent flooding in Norway and since the image is b/w and all the other are in colour at that page I would guess it is quite old...maybe in the happy days when the 412's were more common in Norway...

Lars,
This is modelyear 1970, because of the wooden dash.
The 1971-dash is black and as you know the the 1972 has the newer 4-spoke steering wheel.
Like the puzzle.
How many hours did you need to fix it?

Are there any visible differenceson the outside of the 411, 1970 - 72?

As far as I know there is no difference on the outside.
Wait a minute....................thinking....................grooves in the front, behind the bumper!
But it isn't easy to know wenn they exactly changing it. A lot of early type 4 became one after damage or rust.
The last (small) item is on the back. The 411 E automatic modelyear 1970 don't have the faster Fuel Injection Engine, but the same engine as the first modelyear, 68 BHP. So in the back there is no big E on automatic-cars!!!! This is counting for Europe, USA is different.

You mean the grilles at each side behind the bumper? it has been debated before which cars had them and not...I dont think they were on all -71 and -72 cars...but you are right, never seen them on a -70.

Compliance sticker on a -69 411 sold in sweden. I says that this car is made up to current US safety laws except for no rear seat belts and also except for US laws that interfer with Swedish laws
Strange we had to refer to US laws i those days...

Are you saying pre-70 cars had black dash treatment? Interesting. That may not just be a '70 model depending upon where you are. The 1971 models in the US came with the three spoke wheel and wood dash. The main dash differences were in position of switches and details of the font on the speedometer from 1971 and on until 1974 412. Ray
