Wow so the 912-E was 1976 it was the last to receive a T-4 starting from the 411 and 412 in 1968 .
Which tells me VW and Porsche had a lot of time to scrutinize and respect the T-4 engine to install it into a Real Porsche after the 914 was in Limbo as for what it was a VW or Porsche.
A lot of my customers say the 912-e is their car.

It was the last "Porsche" to get a type 4 engine. I don't know about the rest of the world but I recall seeing my first 914 in the local dealership in 1969. I have a '70 411 square back that may have been the first year for the type 4 here in Canada. I also have a type 2 with '73 on the door sticker but registered as a '74. Is that the first year for the type 4 engine in the Bus? I know the '71 Bus was still type 1 engine.

I solved my cooling temp measurement issue.
I was running two gauges in parallel to check one of them and the resistance of the wires was too much and affected the gauges. Boiling water in a tub with a dip measurement got me 95c today (water had cooled) so I’m happy now. Just need to see the temp at 70!

Yes, the 912E was a one year only 1976 Porsche to fill the gap between the 1975 914 cars and the new upcoming 1977 Porsche 924...It was basically a poor man 911 with the 2.0 litre T4 engine from the 914 2.0.
