Cool color for a ghia. It looks great, what is it? I thought that volkswagen "Mars Red" paint they used to squirt on the 85' scirocco was different, wonder what that would look like on a ghia? Guards red is cool, but too overdone I think. I wanted to go with that porsche arctic polar silver, but settled for a little brighter one, and since I've color sanded and buffed the hell out of it, it really brings out a unique silver.

I'll try this image thing, but I think the size may be way off.

My own '70 Vert is painted in it's original Bahia Rot (Bahia Red). Took it to the paint shop - the local expert who does all the old classics and asked to see a paint book. He said "Why? - the color code is under the bonnet" He proved it by opening the bonnet and reading off the code. And I said, "yeah, but I think I want another shade". He says "NO!" Then he went to his own mixing books and announced that the same color was still available in better materials than the original. He refused to even consider painting it another color - flat refused!

Very passionate these Italian body guys!

And the car - bellissima!

I respect your dedication to red on a ghia, but I beg to differ, a ghia with body primer spots all over it unpainted is still gorgeous. With these body lines, almost any color in the world looks good. A ghia in any other color than red, ugly? Whew....your gonna get some heat for that one....

Whoa! I agree w/ Capgun Slim on this. Go here http://shoptalkforums.com/bbs/NonCGI/Fo ... 01053.html

Also follow the link in the replies. I never liked lime green, but it sure looks good on his KG. And purple? Sure looks on D's KG. And I personally would never buy a yellow car. But my KG is yellow. And after I finish, it may very well be yellow, or purple, or lime green!

The "Flash Red" color of the 1995 Jetta is my preference. It is the best red that VW has used in my opinion.
