Old thread but still useful info...so here goes.

Excessive fuel pressure (more than~3.5-4lbs) on IDFs will riase the float higher in the bowl. That won't flood the carbin and of itself. It will however force the needle off its seat flooding the bowl.

Be sure no more than 3.5 lbs max pressure. And measure the float height with gasket in place 10-11.5 mm ball NOT depressed.The drop isn't as important get it to 28-32mm.

Also be sure the carb top gasket holes are not blocking ports.
