You know, de-chromed, big Porsche rims, Brembos, etc.,... German Look rules!

on the subject as a different front suspension for a ghia... i hope you have seen this page

http://www.wizrod.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ ... suspension

"wizrod' is a member over at http://www.volksrods.com and shared this suspension idea with everyone.

i think the ghia should handle as well as it looks - especially sittin low to the ground with fat rubber holding it there. maybe a midengine setup as well but that will just take a little more time.

(yeah, i've herad the "Porsche built the car you're talking about already" line over again but there is one thing that doesn't ring true.... the ghia looks better)

good luck with your project - would love to see pictures of its progress

That setup using the original front beam is pretty cool but im afraid its way to weak to be reliable. Single shear suspension mounting points all over the place spell busted suspension mounts. I bet if you film that suspension while the car is going down the road youll see lots of play on those spacer beams that come off the ends and connect to the wishbones. Im not bashin the setup but it does need some additional bracing in my eyes.

I've just put my bug pan chassis up for sale as an unfinished project, it has double wishbone suspension back and front, porsche 915 tranny, 18x10's under stock fenders, Porsche 911 steering rack, 928 GTS front brakes and 844 turbo rears. Anythings possible if you have the know how or in my case know someone with the know how.
If you search a few years back in the eurolook section there should still be some pics etc.

Oh and all my suspension worked just needed a few little finishing touches.

None that were factory made. All uni-ball set ups I´ve seen are either self made or aftermarket.
