Feel like I need to add some photos had a few free moments this morning. I know it’s rough and I need to clean up wiring but it’s a starting point.
Also need to make an external waste gate block off plate.
Just a side shot
New head lights that I need to wire up. And maybe find some trim rings for.
Where the magic happens!! Need to make a dash skin this winter and move some gauges around.
Also was cleaning up some things last night and replacing an exhaust gasket and figured I would check the other flanges only to find my #1 flange had lost it’s nuts!
Maybe why it was slow to spool!!?! I knew I had an exhaust leak but thought it was a different gasket.
Oh well, gonna get some tuning time in on the way to work.

Looks good! Do neither of your wastegates have vacuum lines to them?

Thanks
The external is not hooked up.
The one on the td04 has a short one straight from the compressor.

I plan on going to the external but I want sure what psi it was set at and scared to try it unknown.
The speedo is a speed hut motorcycle gauge. Speedo and tach combo. I had it laying around.
So.... after hooking up that exhaust pipe the right way this thing is amazing!!! I had to much dialed in on the boost controller, hit 18 psi on the way to work!?! No detonation but I need to get my water meth set up. Tried to dial it back on the way home May have got it down. For some reason my computer wouldn’t connect for some reason.
So.... I guess I need to run some more boost runs!
I know now why people say boost is addictive...

You were scared to try out the external and then made a run at 18psi?! I would be willing to bet the external wastegate is less than 10 psi. Plus you can do a cut at whatever boost you want. Although I can tell you it is not pleasant! I hit my cut the other day next to a gas station. It had to have made many people crap their pants because it sounded like a stick of dynamite went off!
That's awesome that you found your boost though. That will make things way more fun!
I welded my internal gate shut, but I couldn't run it because of packaging.

I have hit my AFR safety net a few times today.
This morning I hit it a few times but was auto tuning. Also I had no clue I had my MBC set to 18 psi. I had only seen 8psi with 1 1/2 turns in from touching so I went another half not knowing that I was probably at 12-15 originally.
I plan to bolt the waste gate shut Incase I ever want to sell this turbo. But that is down the road.
For some reason that project took a crap on me mid way to work. So I lost all that auto-tune. Saved the super rough tune and I’ll run it again tomorrow on the way in. Hopefully I’m close. Looking to hold at around 15 lbs for now.
Need to get some video of this thing.
Also talked to a buddy at work that is way better with welding then I am and we are in the works on a drag wing/intercooler mount kinda like this:
But with a huge intercooler.
Also anyone know if they still make descent 15 tires. Mine are a bit aged for turbo speeds.
Thanks

I run 15" tires. Lot of them still out there.

Oh yeah! I really like the look of an M&H DOT slick! Legal too!
That would be a great place for an intercooler! If you didn't want to make one you could plunk down a few bucks for the RLR.

I looked at the RLR one. Looks nice, but fun money is coming to an end here real quick. So I have access to some free scrap and a plasma cutter so gonna take advantage. Also have the intercooler in the garage already. We will see I’ll get it built maybe I’ll have to rename the thread drag buggy?

Makes sense to me. I don't like to buy something I can make. I've made a couple of wings like that for drag cars and I just used rivets to hold them together. I guess you would need to weld some sort of support structure for the intercooler though.
And I get it. Even with a stock engine, things add up pretty quickly.

Well.... lost my TPS sensor on a quick grocery run. Started getting a pretty good oil spray. Threw a new gasket on my fuel pump block off plate. Tightened up my oil pressure sensing unit. Replaced my cheap burnt out TPS. Went to tighten up my idle adjustment screw and...
Snapped that right off. Gonna JB weld it tonight. And start looking for another throttle body. Pulled that off a 93 Hyundai but they seem to be real hard to find. Car was running good. Hoping to get it back there.

That was my second check after the local pick and pull.
It’s just the idle adjustment nut mount. Also not a high stress point. JB weld “should” hold. If not then the eBay hunt will begin.
Maybe I need to look for a more available throttle body and just fab up a back up intake.
