No fun engine updates. Finished a bunch of boring things like making head lights and tail lights work.

Also got bored and wanted to build some thing so I put together a $2 shift light.

Bought an LED flash light for $1 and tore that apart.

Looked at the battery pack for polarity and solder in some leads.

Positive was in the center.

Cut off the body of the flash light and slipped in my nail polish painted lens.

Once that was done I potted the back of the light with some left over JB weld. Let it sit over night.

Sat in last night and tried to figure out where I wanted it. Initially I was thinking the windshield corner next to the vin plate. I wasn’t super happy with the look. Ended up placing it next to my ignition facing up. Got it wired in I’ll give an update as to if it’s worth it or not.

Opinion: There is usually a red light for operating the charging system (mine was red anyway). There is a oil pressure light usually red when your in deep dodo. On my shifter light I put it on top of the dash more or less in plain site so I didn't have to take my eyes off where I was going. Things happen (distraction) way too fast when you are having fun which is the main reason for that.

My opinion is worth what you paid for it.

Lee,

I plan on changing the color after I painted it I realized my color choice was wrong. My wife assured me that she has other color nail polish if I want to change it.

As for mount location we will see how it works. It’s a pretty direct beam focus so Line of sight is relative.

You really don't have to worry about warning lights. You have the software that will save your ass long before you could react to a warning light.

Nothing wrong with nail polish!

For a $2 project I’m happy. I was missing parts for my knock sensor, or my traction control sensor.

Can anyone clarify that for launch control it’s 12vdc to a digital input and the MS3 provides ground?

Thanks

All but one input on that Pro just want a ground. There is pretty much no need to power any inputs.

Chip- are you saying that I do not need to supply 12vdc to the switch then to the ECU?

Basically your saying that if the ECU gets grounded on a pin then that alone will activate what I would like to activate?

Thanks for clarifying, I feel dumb right now.

Yeah that’s how they work.
It’s only simple after you know!

How do you plan to activate it?
