As much of a hassle as it is, Mike .. you need to trial assemble the new #1 bearing, flywheel, and shims you think are correct on the crank in order to properly check bearing clearance all the way around with a feeler gauge. On the bench .. no case. You can use a case to facilitate assembly if you wish, so long as the crank assembly is then removed from the case. At least that's the way I'd do it, to avoid seeing another bearing like that ..

Forgot about this tread

Got the Lower end all button up a little over 3 bills

It's a AH case,turns over with 2 fingers

, I don't have air conditioning in the shop so I'm dragging my feet on jumping all over this, nice breeze today so maybe I'll finish it

I am glad the headers fit and they look good on there. They have a history and were from this dragster when we owned it,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5zQ9nv8IJA If everything is working properly your dragster has the potential to run low 6's . We ran 26 " x 8.5 slicks , 3.88 R/P 3.78 /2.31/1.58/1.21 gears . Engine was 2275 Superflow heads with 44x40 tit valves , Engle fk89 so pretty close to what you have. We did have problems with the front mount like is bolted to the front of your engine , call me some time and we can catch up , cool dragster, Mike McCarthy
