100mm was a std Porsche size (944s at least)

Need to know each ring width etc.

Aircooled.net lists Deves in 100mm
http://vwparts.aircooled.net/DEVES-Pist ... -2-2-5.htm
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Never mind as for turbo more meat in the liner is better.
Indeed! I´d even go as far as to say, they are better suited for your application (turbo) now then if they were 96mm in the same head register.

My set of Empi 100mm jugs came with Venolia pistons. I have had to have a set of rings put together by True Seal because the lands in the pistons do not match anything sold today. Once get the rings in I will send the pistons and rings back to Venolia for remachinging of the ring lands to fit the new rings.

I inherited this failed project. They are about 15 years old and have never been run. I am in the process of finishing the project, I am such an idiot.....

using this old string to post a new question.
I am building up an old Porsche 1.7 core engine. It came with a set of 100mm barrels. Only markings say 100.
They are very nice biral.
I am not familiar with T4 engines, but learning. Will stock 1.7 shims work with these cylinders? i.e standard case opening
I measured the cylinder spigot into the case at 105mm

No, they are an odd size in-between stock and the typical "103-105"s
EMW may have correct shims, and can certainly make them.

They are custom German Mahle jugs, sold by EMPI in their glory days.
They are very much worth using, rehoning/reboring if needed etc.
that 1.7 is a 2.2l with those, also check the crank, EMPI sold Oettinger/Okrasa cranks too.(Alfing made, finest quality)

I have a set.

Thank You
The core engine I bought turned out to be pretty good. I didn't really know what I was buying and I don't think the seller knew much more than me.
Jugs have been honed true. I will contact EMW. Will check the crank.

the Okrasa rods are on "311" t1 forgings, but wider big ends.
(you will likely want to replace those with customs in crmo, as the 311 forgings aren't all that)
Crank would have full forged in counterweights...
Alfing logo is an "A" in a triangle, stamped in.
Stroke would be 75mm with 1.7 55mmx26 rod journals, or maybe 78-82mm with 50x26 2l journals, not sure of bigger stroke.
