Hey there,
I think this is my first post. Anyways, I found this site after dealing with the Samba for a while. Just threw down a $20. Hoping to lurk around and shamelessly get great deals from trophy bajas that are upgrading to newer better parts, beer, and women.

Okay. Leatherneck is doing his job, dropping suttle hints every now and again. They are getting more and more not very suttle. I even opened a photobucket account to ease the servers.
Thanks for all you guys do and the warm welcome. $ sent.

Re: ShopTalkForums Need Your Help
I realize things are tight, shoot this year alone the mods had to cancel their trip to the Playboy Mansion so you know things are tough. Thanks Tim and all of you who have given up some green. What you see and what you don't see behind the scenes all cost money and the donations you guys make make it possible for upgrades like we just went through. Doc does a lot of this out of his pocket so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Re: ShopTalkForums Need Your Help
Many, many thanks to contributors!! It's really appreciated.
Although I did finance the site personally for many years, the last year or so has been self sufficient via member contributions. Since we changed servers to a VPS system (more control/better availability), we are on the hook for a bigger monthly bill that never quits. So ongoing contributions remain important.
Can't help but give a big tip of the hat to AdminSteve for all his recent work doing the technical part of the changeover. Steve has never asked for a dime and has spent dozens of late night hours getting things converted, upgraded and fixed up just right. Plus he puts up with my constant pressuring to hurry up.
Also, we have a great group of core mods that have never received a penny and constantly keep the place in some kind of order. It's a labor of love or they would have been gone long ago.
STF remains an open forum with no advertising, maintained exclusively for the benefit of the members. We are in our 11th year on the air. Not bad in these tough times.
