Man, I've been a sick puppy this past week --- without going into a lot of details, lets just say I lost 20 pounds in two days, and 3 days after .. .. my ribs still hurt too much to laugh/cough/sneeze......

BUT the engine is done and I've cleaned up the garage (folded up my engine assembly area into it's corner) and I'm ready to move the Ghia into the disassembly area..... (This is normally a 2 hour job but recovering from my goo, it has taken me two days)

Got the tape measure out and the 2919 measures just under 34 inches across without any intakes or exhaust .... and the engine bay of the ghia is at 28 inches --- --- something is gonna have to give here ...... Might get the neighbors to help me push the ghia off the trailer and into the garage tomorrow, so I can start tearing (cutting) into the project -- time is getting real tight.

Hi Fiatdude,

I fashioned our airdam out of sheet metal cut from a simple pattern, and fastened it to the bottom of the bumper with simple hardware store L-brackets. The airdam itself will curve gently.

Very easy.

How much deflection do you get at speed with that set up --- or does the slight curve give it some ridigity

Hi FiatDude,

No deflection or warping. The curve seems to work for that, and I was prepared to pop-rivet reinforcing braces to the back of the airdam. It was not necessary.

Do you think there would be any advantage to building one with a spliter on the bottom?????????????

Can you take a pic of the fuel fill hose into the cell? I haven't seen anyone use the standard filler neck with a cell before.
Or is the stock filler hose unused?

Steve -- --- man you had the wheels turning there for a second -- I did a quick internet search and came up with this

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-290191/

BUT -- -- -- I've got a large 12 gallon cell and it sets just too high in there for a connection to be made -- -- maybe with a small tank it could be done but I wanted 10+ gallon tank so this is what I found that fit in the area I wanted....

Hi FiatDude,

A splitter may help, but the simplicity of the design here is hard to beat, It just blocks air out from under the car.

I'd concede that a splitter might be cosmetically nicer ...

Yesterday's accomplishment -- -- -- 2 - 5/8" .060 wall fuel lines running the length of the car -- Was kinda of worried above crushing these lines by going over a speed bump or something, but after spending a day trying to bend these damn things I don't think I have much too worry about -- -- LOL

this also shows the front trans mount for the 901 and the rear anti-sway bar
