Found it at autozone with a 20% discount to boot.

Also while I was cleaning up some things I realized that all my welds on the exhaust had oil coming from them so I for sure need to address all those here soon.

Ok, so changed the oil, cleaned up the O2 sensor which had some oil but didn’t seem horrible. I recalibrated it and fired it up. Still blubbering and AFR readings at 8.1!

So! Start trying to trouble shoot my injectors in test mode. No luck with that.

Swap my spark plugs cause that’s been on the list for a bit and i am just to lazy when it works.

Start it again super rich (there is a trend emerging)

After this I’m about ready to lose it! I’m google searching and trying to pull SD Logs (downloaded but I have no clue how to open them)

Lastly I start thinking about the changes I made Sunday night before this all started.
1. Ran wiring for an e85 sensor
2. Changed oil / adjusted valves
3. Added sheathing to wiring harness pass through at the fore wall.

So I pushed the harness back through and started it up and she purrs like a kitten!

So I’m going to have to chase down that harness gremlin eventually. But I’m thinking a clean up of the wiring this year is due maybe the front this summer and rear this winter.

Thanks for tuning in and providing thoughts.

Well it ran great on the way to work. Lost some oil due to a valve cover gasket being misaligned but that was the worst of it. Gave a couple of full throttle pulls and I’ll be damned if it didn’t pull real good!
That said I had some raise in idle but I assumed it was just a throttle cable issue I have been having at the tube into the tunnel.

On the way home I’m fiddling with it stop light to stop light but no changes. I pull into a parking lot and start looking, also fire up the lap top that for some reason I grabbed this morning!? TPS showed 0% I think huh, seems like it’s pulling air from some where. I could watch the AFR hold at 14.7, sputter, 16/17.1 lean misfire by now it’s holding 2000 rpm with not throttle.

I’m 4 miles from home. I’m trying to diagnose things in my head but I’m drawing a blank on obvious answers.

I get home and try to sneak into the driveway to not wake up my kids during nap time.

I get all the other things for the evening done and throw my pressure tester on.

Throwing air at it my 3/4 intake manifold has lost a bolt, easy fix!

Also found out my BOV is leaking at 20+psi. And I had a weld on my Intercooler develop some pin holes.

Got a new bolt in fired it up and we are back in business! Till tomorrow.

Nice! That wasn't a bad fix! Glad you found it. Hope that electrical gremlin doesn't beat you down too bad.

I know generally where it’s at but I can’t see anything obvious damage wise.

I would like to rewire it this winter. Put an actual rear fuse panel in, and cleanup/wrap my harness and fire wall pass through.

Are we ever done?

Yeah with the MS3 I’m pretty much done. I would like to add another speed sensor and the E85 parts to the current harness.

I would also like to add a micro squirt in to allow for a greater I/O system.

So after last weeks oil, fuel and intake manifold issues I thought I had most of the bugs worked out for this week.. not what happened.

I was on the way to work on Tuesday, and noticed I was dipping into the 10:1 range AFR at cruise. Also at one point I lost something, car would crank but not run. Wiggled something in the rats nest I have in the trunk and made it to work.

Went to grab lunch and the AFR problem and stalling issue was starting to get to me. Car died in a parking space at work.

Started trouble shooting in the parking lot and found two grounds that somehow where disconnected!? Hooked those up and the stalling issue was fixed.

All of that and I was still fighting a high idle issue so I figured why not adjust it a little. This was on a part I jb welded last August.

Image

Turned the idle adjustment nut and thought I felt a pop. But I’m the back of my mind I hopped like hell I hadn’t broken that free. I started limping the 18 miles home only to make it 2 miles and end up having a runaway car after the throttle stuck wide open. No damage just a bit of a picker factor.

Got it towed home by a buddy. I tore into it and made a new throttle adjustment but out of some 1/4” aluminum i had laying around.

Last problem I got fixed was the AFR some how my gauge was reading was richer then TS. After some searching I re-set mine in TS and threw auto tune at it in the way home. Half way home I flogged on it a bit man was that thing off tuning wise for a while it’s so much crisper and responsive now.

Long post with not a ton of exciting things.

Finally got some argon so I can learn to tig. This is going to be a healthy learning curve but I’m excited to learn!

Nothing new on the car, it’s my daily right now so not trying to tear into it to much.

Plans are shaping up though for a new dash and some electrical clean up.

Thanks! It’s going to be a learning process for sure! But I’m super stoked to learn.

Oh yeah it is for sure. The hardest part for me was having a comfortable place to rest my elbows.

Don’t have a ton of new stuff though I picked up a std/std 85mm AH duel relief case off Facebook market about a week ago.

Looking at full flowing it is this article a good one to follow?
