85/86/87 944 (951) Turbo. So not alot of them ever made. Think 15-16.000 cars over those years. Each car with one spare.

Now sporting a 25liter/6 gallon water tank up front!

Image

Needed to take the new tank for a test, and it does work...

First up, a smoothie at the local supermarked.

Than a trip by the Norwegian VAG importer

And back in the garage the log check. Still on wastegate pressure.

A litte rich, but need too add compensation to the WG before fiddling to much. My ID1000 injectors (flowed 900cc at 45psi) is maybe a little too small, and need upgrading. Fuel pressure is set at about 50-53psi.

Dyno-time! :)

Today I took a trip along with Kalle to Hamar around 150km from Oslo for a dyno shoot out

Departure from our hangar around 7 o'clock this morning. The car stood on the dyno a little before 10am and we managed 9 or 10 pulls all togheter.

Some struggling because the boost solenoid fails to compensate pressure on top of the wastegate spring before 50% compensation, so I need to either replace it or clean it inside and check for pulsing.

In addition, I'll re-route the lines to the solenoid and wastegate. Just so the solenoid can get some " cleaner "air to work with.

Engine runs PIG rich! About. 10.2 to 10.5 while it is spooling. That allows the injector duty cycle to hit the ceiling of 100% ... So much for 900cc flow tested injectors.

But .. By leaning out, that can be enough to pull down the DC to maybe around 90%. Maybe...

ID1000 Injector is said to handle 450 engine horses on E85.

Ignition wise we are relatively kind to the engine at 17 degrees at 1.8 bar. Very kind really.

So there is plenty potential left!

The turbo soups some oil, and I've ordered a T3 / T4 rebuild kit.

Today's happy news is 369hk on 5650omdr and 517nm on 4650omdr! And this is at the wheel!

First outing with the new engine this weekend.

Made 7 or 8 passes, with 2 in the 10's!

10,626 @ 213kph/132mph, 1,606 60foot. 6.909 halfway @ 167kph/103mph
10,633 @ 211kph/131mph, 1,441 60foot. 6.870 halfway @ 164kph/101mph

More too come. The 10.626 run was without the switch to the waterpump turned on and peaked at 111C/232F intake temp :p

Need new tires atleast!
