I've posted it on all the other forums... so I decided I'd bring it on into this one. The Nasty Fasty is my 1970 VW fastback that was given to me. I helped my buddy install a 6" narrowed KCW airbeam... and the project stopped there. The car sat for several months... and I was finally able to pick it up. I lowered the back and worked on the paint and wheels a bit . THe engine was recently rebuilt and the car should be good to go as soon as I work out a few things. This is probably the narrowest and lowest late model type 3 out there....
And the question I get a lot.... How do you fit a 6 inch beam on a late three??
Matt "the intern" (of KCR tech video and road trip fame)does some work out of my shop here in Utah.He keeps trying to get me to narrow and drop something, but I have resisted so far.I am weakening in my resolve however.
Is that your sister?
haha no, Girlfriend of 11 months! She's been helping out a lot on this damn Nasty Fasty...probably because when its on the road, she gets the keys to my Jetta
Well with the help of a screwdriver and an allen wrench... I got the Damn Nasty Fasty running tonight! It has no brakes quite yet, so we were just gonna cruise it around the yard a bit... Until a tree root ended all that fun
Here's a clip of it running... just a header, the muffler rusted off:
and a pic of it stuck up on the root:
And a few more of the Shitina:
and here is why I wanted the wheels a dark color... its so narrow that they disappear in the shadows of the fenders:
are you makiing more surface rust in the front? It seems like in some of the first pictures you posted, when you first got it, it was all primer red? Or am I tripping?
The Nasty Fasty is one sweet a$$ ride to cruise! We only took it around my buddies block a few times... but I can't wait to hit the streets in this thing! I've still got to adjust the brake, tweak the steering, and make a weld to get a little more lift....and that's it! Time to hit the streets of the panhandle... literally!
