Hey, everybody!

Gekko and I are very excited to share information about our very first show set for Saturday, June 2nd, 2007 - the "V-Dubs, Scooters, and Trucks... Oh, My!!" show - happening at Logan's Roadhouse, Chili's, Fudd's, and Tinseltown 290 (the Northwest Freeway @ Pinemont in Houston). What makes this so totally cool is that there will be three shows in one location and the proceeds from the show benefit the Gulf Coast Chapter of B.A.C.A. - Bikers Against Child Abuse.

This event is in its planning stages - we got the go-ahead from BACA and the prelims set just Thursday, but here is what you'll need to mark it on your calendar:

- Saturday, June 2nd, 2007 (Rain Date set for Saturday, June 9)
- 8:00 am - 5:00pm
- 3 shows - one venue:
V-Dubs, Motorcycles, and Custom Trucks on display
- Trophies will be awarded for the top contenders at each of the three shows in each
competitive class, so feel free to BRING IT!!
- Registration to show your ride is $15.00 per vehicle
- Swap/Vendor Space is $20.00 per space
- We are seeking corporate or individual sponsors/advertisers for shirts/banners
- The raffle is gonna be one of the best you've ever seen!

GREAT NEWS!

Plans are coming along nicely for the “V-Dubs, Scooters, and Trucks… Oh, My!!” show on Saturday, June 2nd. Sponsors are coming on board, the word is getting out… it’s really shaping up to look like a LOT of fun! And who could ask for a better reason to come hang out with your V-Dub friends, look at some spectacular bikes and custom trucks, eat some great food at Logan’s or Fudd’s, win some awesome raffle prizes, win some trophies, and then catch a movie after the show at Tinseltown. Who could ask for a better day?

BACA - Bikers Against Child Abuse - is the beneficiary of the proceeds from this event. The Gulf Coast Chapter of BACA works directly with kids who have been abused, providing these same kids with hope, confidence, and a safe, adoptive “family” of some fairly tough looking big brothers and sisters! BACA works in conjunction with state and local officials who are in place to protect these kids. Just checking in and wanted to let you know that things are going great as we look ahead to the BACA Benefit Show on June 2nd! The show is only 8 short weeks away and we absolutely can’t wait to see your VW!!

There will be 13 Volkswagen Trophies presented at the show. The classes are as follows:

I wish I could let you in on the secret about who’s donating the trophies, but I just can’t say it yet! We are still finalizing details, but I promise - you won’t be disappointed!!!

We’re still working on the shirt design, but what we’ve seen so far is looking AWESOME! Shirts will be available at the show for $15.00 each, but by registering early, you can get your shirt at a discounted price! How cool is that? Only 7 more weeks until the show.... we're so excited we can hardly stand it!! Things are coming together really nicely!

I am excited to finally be able to announce that the VW Show trophies will be donated by none other than Kermit's Air-cooled Replacement Parts here in Houston. Kermit is always really awesome about taking care of our parts needs and he's got years of VW experience, too, so he can sell the part AND tell you any special tricks or tips to getting that part in or on your aircooled VW! Bob over at Houston Party Rental has graciously agreed to donate an inflatable moonwalk/obstacle course for the kids to play on! The Houston Aeros have donated two lower end zone tickets to a 2007-2008 regular season game, Splashtown in Houston has donated two comp passes, and the Houston Museum of Natural Science has donated a whopping family pack of 8 admissions to their exhibits! So much has been going on around here with getting ready for the Texas Classic that our preparations for the BACA show slowed down a bit. But, we’re back on track after a relaxing weekend in Fredricksburg and we’ve kicked it back in gear. I gotta tell ya, this show is gonna be so AWESOME!!

Now is the perfect time to get your registration info in to us! Pre-registration will keep on going all the way up to the show date but the T-shirt discount cut-off is Tuesday, May 15th! By pre-registering and ordering your shirts early you save $5.00 per shirt (they’re $10.00 now, $15.00 at the show)! We will have a limited number of shirts on sale at the event, but it’s recommended to order ahead so we can be sure to have the sizes you want at that awesome discounted price!! And, think about it – the less time you have to spend standing in line on show day the better, right?? Wow! What an incredible couple of days for planning a show!! It’s been totally amazing and I thought I’d share some of the good news with you!

The shirt order goes in Wednesday of next week (May 16th) and the T-shirt design is in! It’s fantastic, too! Get your discounted shirt orders in before the deadline on Tuesday, May 15th!! Shirts are $10.00 each (regardless of size) if you send in your order before Tuesday. They’ll be $15 each after the 15th or on the day of the show, but we’ll only have a limited number of them on hand.

The excitement is almost unbearable!! It’s all coming together SO, SO nicely!

We have raffle stuff still to pick up and already we have in hand over 120 items to give away valued at over $2,600.00. Tremendous thanks to Darque Tan, JC Whitney, the Flagship Hotel in Galveston, Stubbs Harley-Davidson, the Aeros, the Astros, the Dynamo, Splashtown, Comedy Sportz, Houston Motorsports, Bap-Geon, The Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Houston area restaurants who have graciously donated gift cards and gift certificates, and all of the donors who are making this raffle the best there’s ever been! (Did I mention that we still have more prizes to pick up???)

Fudd’s will be cooking outside so we’ll be smellin’ their awesome burgers and fries all day long! Logan’s will have cool drinks for sippin’ outside, too! And, you can catch a summer blockbuster movie after the show at Tinseltown! What a way to spend a Saturday!!

Just a reminder that Brenda with MainStream Productions will be on hand to record your club or group’s cruise in… All you need to do is call us at 832-298-8449 about 10 minutes prior to your arrival with some key info (like who’s your lead VW and who’s bringing up the rear and how many are in-between) so we know with clarity what to record. We can also give you any special instructions for arrival so we can get your entire group on tape! There’ll be order forms on hand so you can get a DVD copy for yourself or for your club website, too.
