1.8 cylinder heads

Post by dls914 »

I am currently building a stroker 78mm x 96mm for my 914. I am trying to figure the comp. ratio using 1.8 heads. Anyone know the volume of the combustion chambers on these heads? Also how far can the stock 93mm cylinders be safely bored? Thanks

The 93 cyl are typically bored to 96mm. If you have the heads already, you shoud be able to measure them yourself easily enough. If the heads have been modified previously, a factory cc figure (which I don't know at the moment) wouldn't be what you need to know.

Remember: Small changes in chamber volume can result in relatively large changes in compression ratio. So you need to measure what you have, rather than ask what the "typical" numbers are.
