just bought a new 914 (72)
the last 914 I owned was about 9 years ago.
been into aircooled vws for 18 years and know a lot about performance T1 cars/engines. BUT Im lost with where to look for T4 engines. Who is the source for that kind of stuff?
the 914 all ready has dual 36mm dells on the 1.7, so was thinking a nice set of ratio rockers would give me a little more gain. Don't want to do much, but would like to know where to go to find certain parts. Im behind the learning curve.
any help would be appreciated.

Chris,
FIRST OFF..... WELCOME...!!!!!!
If you go look at the TYPE 4um area that is located on this same web site.
You will have a couple months of non stop reading to do, to understand the type 4 engine. Cause it ain't a type I engine.
The type IV has it's own Idiosyncrasy's.
In fact.
Much of what you learned about type I performance flat doesn't work on these engines.
These are bigger, tougher platform than the type 1.
It's also more expensive... No doubt about that.............
By the way...... There are several other websites devoted to the 914 car.
I.E. "www.914world.com" or "www.914club.com" "www.pelicanparts.com"and may others.
They are great places to find out more about your car.
This website is VERY GOOD if you want to learn about the type IV engine.
So go read your ass off and learn like we all did....
We are here to support ANYONE that wants to learn and implement.
Cheers,
Clayton
