I just purchased a 2.0L (the code deciphers it) engine from someone I linked up with on this site... but when looking at the post regarding the engine for sale someone else responded that the heads are from a 1.7 or 1.8. I got a good deal on the motor and would be happy to have the larger valves from a carbed 1.7 or 1.8, but was not sure if the guy responding was just wrong.
His reasoning was because the heads had 4 intake studs... but I think he was just proving that it was a bus motor, not porsche. I know theres something regarding the plug angles as well... but besides that I'm ignorant regarding type 2 motors... please help!
I will post a pic when I get my camera back from the manufacturer (had a defective part they say), but in the mean time, is there any easy way to tell the difference?
Could I have 1.7 or 1.8 heads?

The 1.8 chambers have a kidney shape.
2.0 BUS heads chamber is sorta like a bathtub.
1.7 heads all have a little "dimple" relief cut in the middle of the chamber for the domed 1.7 pistons.
Those above ALL have the same plug angle.
The 2.0 Porsche 914 "3 stud" heads have totally different chambers, more open, the different plug angle, 42x36 valves, noticably bigger ports, and usually several expensive to fix cracks.
There's a thread here somewhere (probably in the sticky at the top) that has pics of all of them, Tunas site may too.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
