My really old, recently refreshed, but still slow Rail

Post by khaney01 »

This buggy was originally put together in 1976 by my first cousin, Jim. It was sold to a neighbor who kept it in a barn, got rid of the gear reduction boxes, Had my brother Rick build a 1679 engine, and parked it. It sat for about 15 years where I found it and have had it for about three years. I got rid of the swingarm torsion and added 5 inches to the wheelbase in the process by scooting the IRS torsion back and adding slugged pipe for strength of the joints. The Tri-Mil header now is about a half inch away from the rear of the frame.

Anyways, it was old and rusty. Now it is old and (semi)shiny. :)

Lots of homemade and low-buck crap on this rig. It works well and cost peanuts so until I win the lottery I will keep plugging along and upgrading as I can. :)
