22.5" Axle - I need them!!

I'm looking for what year/model came with the 22.5" axle. If anyone knows where to buy this particular length (new or used), that would also be helpful. I'd rather not have them made for cost reasons.

Swing or IRS?

The shortest stock swingaxle is 26-11/16" overall.
Longest IRS stock drive axle I know of is the RH side from an automatic II: 505mm = 19.88"
Sway-A-Way makes a 22½" for 28-spline 930 CVs and a 22" for 33-spline VW CVs.

Thanks for the info on the SAW 930s...do you know the cheapest place around to get them?

I know the right side of an 84 AT is 22.807" per the Bentley manual.

Didn't know about the Vanagon, my books stop at 1978

List price on the SAW2422.5 is $310/pr.

I have some new axles i bought for my Baja Bus that i think are 22" or so.... I'll check them tomorrow and let you know........... I'd let them go cheap....

They were too long for my project..... They are chromoly axles with Bus spline.

I just measured them... They are 21.5"......... let me know if you can use them or not....... I'd almost give them away as they are just sitting around...

I can use them! I've been trying to decide whether to go with 5x5 or 6x6 arms. 5x5 uses 21.5" axles...so guess I'm going with those!
