I have had to replace my alternator. I bought a remanufactured alternator and it doesn't put out enough Volts (12.05) or Amps (30). I also bought a starter and bosch voltage regulator. I have a lifetime warranty on the starter and alternator so I ordered another alternator. Hopefully it will solve my alternator problems.
I managed to find the microfiche on my alternator on the web (http://www.cwgsy.net/private/ramva/fiche/t209300.gif) and am curious about a particular part. What is part number 19 in this Illustration and what is it's purpose?
The reason why I ask is because it doesn't come with the remanufactured alternator and I have to take it off my old one every time. Is this part the cause for the low output of the alternator? Should I replace it with a new one?
I replaced all the copper connectors on the alternator's wiring harness as well as the ignition and battery connections to the starter.
Part number 19 is the only thing I haven't replaced and I have no idea if it needs to be. I don't want to keep replacing alternator after alternator and never reach the required output just because I haven't replaced the correct part. Can I get a little help?
