In my quest to buy a 914 I notice this putty/rubberized compound in the rear trunk area along the seams and around these round gizmos w/ raised square heads. What are these round "gizmos" and more importantly what is this caulking material and why was it used. It's ugly as hell and really doesn't look up to Porsches standards hence my question. Thx, Kent

they were to access the body points during the spot welding . the sealant on a 914 is sprayed on while on a 914/6 its brushed on.
