auto shifter removal

so im trying to figure out the easiest way to remove the auto shifter.

my bently is on a cd and does not have the automatic section.

i can see it looks like the cable is attached to the shifter body w/ a sleeve kind fo nut that slides over the shifter cable can anyone confirm this?

i dont want to dis assemble more than i have to before getting the shifter out of the car

it was exactly as it looked, i got it loosened up and it slipped right off!
