Pressure plate

Post by bradey bunch »

Hi, I got a new (used) transmission, and I understand that nobody manufactures clutches anymore. Therefore, I plan in getting the disc relined, but I was wondering if any other pressure plates were the same as any others (from say, a vanagon). I have done neumerous searches, but what I am looking for never seems to turn up.

Thanks alot,

Braden

P.S. What about release bearings?

Any type 4 clutch pressure plate for a 210 or 215mm from bus or 914 clutch will work. That being said....the bus clutch was slightly lower in clamping pressure than the 411/412. That can be fixed by having the side ledge on teh flywheel milled slightly deeper. Something like .020" to .030" will usually do it. Ray
