Fuel pump options for '77 bus
Do I have any cheaper options for a replacement fuel pump in my 77 Westfalia? I see a remanufactured pump in my Mid America Motorworks catalog for $150. Engine is stock and in pretty good shape. Thanks

Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

Poke around a little more, there's so many people out there with pie in the sky aspirations of making some monster turbo or injected system, then wind up dumping everything for cheap when they can't finish. Most all the aftermarket pumps run within the Bosch L-jet pump range, 35-40psi. It doesn't really matter though as your fuel pressure regulator is dictating the system pressure, not the pump (pumps supply volume).wildthings wrote:Can't tell you which pump off hand, but many people just buy a generic pump from their FLAPS and use it. I have heard prices in the $80-100 range.
Bus Depot list a new Bosch pump for $140 and a rebuild for $100.
Look on vwvortex, ebay, etc. you should be able to find a new in box pump for under $100 from someone desperate to ditch a new system.
