Hey all
A buddy of mine has a 68 swing squareback. He was sold a "replacement" nosecone trans mount from a local shop and was told it's "same as a type 1".
Well, as most of you know, it's NOT! We cobbled together something that might work for a while but it's temporary at best.
Is the true type 3 nosecone available from any sources?

As I noted a while back...if someone has a passable one and wants to loan it to me I can make a cast of it and make them from urethane. Ray

There is a vendor who recently posted that sells new rubber mounts...
(same thread Ray offered to make a mold in IIRC)
I'm about* to ditch mine and add some faus stubby frame horns for a mid mount, as the stocker flexes too much for the T4 under power.
(*as soon as it thaws and drys out)

That's what I did in preparation for installing the bus box in my notch. I used the Berg street (rubber mounts) intermediate housing mount first for the T1 box, then switched to their same mount for a Bus Box with the Berg T1 nose cone conversion. It worked extremely well and easy.
Whenever I see a T3 trans mount at a swap meet, I usually grab it. I *
may* have one stashed out in "the shed".

I assume your shed looks someting like mine...
Vaguely loaf-shaped, has 4 wheels and a sliding door on the side?
Knowing most VW types, there are probably FAR more busses doing "shed" duty than on the road.
