safari window bay?????

Just a thought that I doubt is going to be easy if possible, but has anyone ever made a safari style screen on a a bay? I remember a while ago that there were a few bugs that had a conversion of this type done, I think with a frame around of brass or ali. I think brass on the flat screen and ali on the 1303's. not seen it done on a bay and think it would be cool to do.

You talking about the front windshield or the back? They have a kit for the back.

No, the front. I'm not sure its possible being so large, the 1303 one I saw was obviously curved like the van but a lot smaller. I can see the flat screen beetle being 'relatively' easy but the curve throws it out a bit, mostly, apart from making a curved surround, making it thin and strong enough to hold the screen steady and still look the part. Still worth some thought though any other ideas out there???????????

Probably not such a hot idea. With a flat piece of glass it's not so bad, curved ones your greatest stress is out a the edges I was told. If you get a stone chip in the middle it's less likely to spread than if it hits near the edge. Even with a frame you'd get some flexibility with the wind, etc. at speed and chances are it would crack. We would always have at least three people to install the glass on a bay bus or T3. Bugs were only two.
