Late T3 front motor/trans nosecone mounts

OK, my late trans nosecone mount is going away, it's super soft/floppy and with the T4, it just isn't making it.
The things are NLA (OK, someone said they had some) but even the OG mounts are too soft IMHO.
I picked up an early SBC motor mount for $8 to play with, may drop everything down/back some on my ATV jack to play this weekend.
So what have others done?

OK, yanked it out today (tricky without actually removing the engine/trans

) thank goodness for ATV jacks.
Decided that since it's actually in great shape, I folded over some 1/16" steel and Shoe-goo'd & pounded it into the gap in the interlocking bit.(filled all around)
It's still surrounded by rubber, but isn't free to slam up that 1/8" or so.
Pic is front view of the mount, the little interlocking nub in the middle is attached to the plate that attaches to the nosecone, the long studs go into the torsion. (this is the unmodified unit, you'll just have to visualize a bit of folded sheetmetal jammed and glued into the upper gap etc, sorry)
It was 97 today, all back together, will try it tomorrow to see if that solved my clunk and helped my slight jerky starts/throttle action at low throttle
(Shoe-goo needs time to dry/cure)

It worked. but it will probably be replaced with a HD T1 version (grafted onto a modded T3 mount metal part) when I add frame horns.
The T3 one seems too flexi, even with the shoo-goo stiffener.

Thanks for the info! I know it was an old post, but I had to ask.

I'm using a HD T1 front mount. I just cut to length some steel tubing and ran long bolts through it. I got about 8,000 miles on it and still going strong.

Did it increase the noise level inside the car?

It's hard to tell since I am in a tin can (no sound deadning FML). It shouldn't since Type 3's have rubber bushings between the subframe and pan, and the HD t1 mount is rubber too. CIP1 doesn't carry the one I got anymore

, it was some special HD rubber one, works good. If I keep framehorns then the next ones will be the new HD Rhino mounts.
