I am 16 years old and i own a 1975-76 Porsche 914 2.0L, the engine is completely stock. Its my high school car and i need to take off the FI system, because it is still good and too costly to maintain for a daily driver P.S(I'm going to box up the FI system, for reinstallation if i sell the car or if i want to go back to it when I'm out of high school.) I live in Simi Valley, CA and in the winter it can get pretty chilly here, so thats why I'm going with solex carbs because I need a electric choke so when I'm running late for school I don't have to wait for my car to warm up. I have chose the Dual 34mm Carbs because like i said I'm still in high school and gas is way to expensive to run Dual 40mm, or 44mm carbs. So what I need help with is jetting the Dual 34mm Solex carbs with electric chokes for the best mpg and performance you can get with a 1975-76 Porsche 914 2.0L stock engine. I'm using a 3 1/2lb rotary fuel pump, and a advance .009 distributer good to 40 degree advance.

Ah, I still remember 16... Enjoy it while you can. You will understand...

The combination you propose will have the possible advantage of being easier to get running/driving. (maybe)

It will NOT have the best power or economy, or drivability.
You would be far better off with the original FI distributor with the vac advance connected.

The jetting will be reasonably close on those carbs, the biggest issue you will (probably) run into is worn throttle shafts and the linkage being worn out.
... Well, that and the Bus carb manifolds won't fit the 914 2L heads w/o machine work/welding.
(The 2L 914 heads outer studs sit in closer, the manifolds will probably need some welding and 2 holes redrilled)

What ex system are you running?

There are plenty of us here who would gladly help walk you through getting the original FI running properly, either in D-Jet original form or with MS1/2 running things
(You can do an MS1 kit + harness for about the cost of a (maybe) good used MPS and throttle switch)

Regardless, the zero'th thing you need to do is replace the 40 year old vinyl fuel lines running in the tunnel.
You will also want to replace ALL rubber fuel lines with EFI line and EFI hose clamps--- The EFI line costs a fe$ more, but lasts for many years, the cheap carb fuel line will die with modern fuel in < 1 year and is a fire hazard.
You will also need a low pressure fuel pump for carbs, I suggest a REAL Facet E-series pump, NAPA has them under their Belkamp brand.
The rotary vane Holley-style pumps are junk..."one year" pumps if you are lucky. Buy the Facet and keep it as a spare, it's just a matter of time.

Brake line works great for the tunnel fuel lines (5/16 is fine---requires a union near the shifter) some SS line from Summit is probably easier if the engine is out.
There are folks who sell replacement SS line kits from time to time.
