pushrod interferance with 1.25 ratio rockers

I'm running newer Scat 1.25 ratio rockers with ball feet on my Wasserboxer. I'm using JC PR tubes mounted backwards.
The problem is, with the geometry set up right some of the pushrods are just touching the top of the tubes. Enough so, that after about 10,000 miles I found tiny flakes of metal in my valve covers. Under close inspection I found that they had come from the outer edge of 2 of the tubes. Looks like I need thicker spacers and longer rods to maintain the geometry. What are my best options for aftermarket push rods? Anybody else work through this issue? What was your solution?

i normally face them off to move the p/r into the centre of the p/r tube, or you can face the stands to achieve the same..

If I face the rockers (remove material from the adjuster foot side of the rocker) or face the stands, I'm essentially moving the rocker closer to the head. Won't that increase the angle of the rod, making the issue worse? Maybe I'm not seeing it clearly.

Move them along the rocker shaft to centre the p/rod in the tube for more clearance, they are off to one side out of the box.

Have moved the rockers as far to the center as possible. Geometry looks perfect at half valve lift. Shorter rods make clearance issues worse. Still too close for comfort on the Jaycee PR tubes with stock wasserboxer rods. I have them mounted backwards, big end to the block), anybody try mounting them the right way round? If you do that, clearance is perfect, but the block end of the tube fits in pretty deep. Still looks like a good seal though. If I can't get Scat 707 1.25's to fit, how do you guys make 1.4's work on water cooled heads?
The other issue I'm having is the new 3/8" adjusters are kissing the valve covers. They're just too long. There are no alternate 3/8" adjusters available. I heard someone talk about dimpling the covers, any trick to this to do a neat job? I was thinking of using heat.

i always fit the tubes the right way round and shorten the adjusters, just cut in new a slot for adjusting, everything that can be lightened should be anyway, including the rockers themselves.
if you want to tho, dimples are best done with a couple of ball pein hammers, no need for heat.

So you're not having issues with leakage on the Jaycee tubes when mounted big end to the heads? If I understand you right, that solves most of my problems.
Would be nice if somebody came up with a larger seal that fits on the small end for wasserboxers.
I hear you about lightening the gear. It's unbelievably heavy as it is, at least compared to my BMW flat 2 cylinder. The exhaust valves and steel pr's alone are heavier. Thought about cutting the adjusters, but what a PITA for a relatively low rpm machine. Scat steel covers only go for about $16.00, I'll probably go that route in the end.
