Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
The ARPM case has the pickup cast into it.. So I tapped the pickup hole for pipe threads and used a pipe nipple for my sump extension. The stock screen would not fit the larger diameter pickup tube.

Tapping it then inserting a fitting would reduce the flow area by about half of the original, right?

Nope.. i did my homework beforehand. I had to drill the pickup larger for the 1/2" pipe tap. The id of the pipe nipple is around .635" and the id of the inlet hole in the case at the pump is around .625" or 5/8.
I figured the ID of the fitting that would screw into the tube would be reduced compared to the tube original ID (obvious). Hence reducing diameter some, and area a bunch. Carry on, just making sure you had this worked out. Not knocking your work.
I wish I had an ARPM case. I have the matching ARPM 2 stage OG pump

Hacking on an original ARPM case really made my stomach drop.. but it was either that or weld an extension on.
