I saw a youtube video mentioning that high detergent diesel oil washes the ZDDP layer off the cylinder walls etc.
Any comment on this?

Maybe they are just trying to sell the Joe Gibbs oil.

No, there is no ZDDP layer on the walls, etc. ZDDP is dissolved in the oil and reacts with surfaces to provide wear protection. They are confused with using high detergent oils at breakin washing pre-lube off the cam.
