You gotta speak English here - or at least German!
What's a Tiico conversion.
Since when did an aircooled bug have a timing belt?
The synchro rings are inside the gearbox, not in the engine/camshaft.

Our shop works on 11 different Tiico conversions (7 of which we converted).
You need a workshop manual for the engine you are working on. In general follow an 87 Golf/Jetta for the timing belt procedure. The Tiico has unique external parts but the belt job will be the same.

My question remains - what's a Tiico conversion?
Something in the USA only??? (This is a world wide site).
Something for watercooled VWs ??? (this is an aircooled VW site).
I bet there are others out there reading this thread who were confused by the original post too - just trying to clear it up for all of us.

Tiico is a defunct company that sold kits and a special version of the golf engine to fit vanagons.
