Hello,
I'm new to this site and to vw beetle. I'm restoring this car and have replaced the heater channels with partial panel connected. My question is the back half of the car with luggage shelf, inner wells and everything else back is gone. I have a complete back half of a car in 1 piece from CA. in great shape, my question is can I cut it out as a whole and just re fit the other half of car and weld it in? Not sure about flexing or anything else if I can do this. Pretty much the same with the front of the car just cutting it off completely and doing the same thing. This is a hard top. Any advice would be greatful.

This post's a bit old, but if you're still around, could you please post some pics? I'm really curious to see if you really did what you described there. It sounds like a pretty hard job to do to be honest.
