Haltech ELITE
I am in the process of building a Turbo Stroker engine that will be managed by a Haltech Elite 1500. I am hoping to chronicle the Haltech/EFI portion of this build and maybe help someone else who endeavors to go EFI. I know 0% about what I am getting into, but I have a good friend who is running Haltech on his bug and a professional tuner close and available who is Haltech and VW knowledgeable.
FIrst, the parts list:
Haltech Elite 1500
Haltech Premium Wiring Harness w/ fuse and relay box
Haltech Flex-Fuel Sensor
CB Performance TPS
CB Performance Fuel Pressure Sensor
CB Performance Micro Cam Sync
TheDubShop Crank Trigger Package
TheDubShop LS2 coils
TheDubShop IAT Sensor
VDO Oil Pressure Sensor
VDO Oil Temperature Sensor
Bosch Knock Sensor
PLX EGT (for CHT)
PLX Wideband O2
DIYAutoTune Boost Control Solenoid
AND....what seems like a never ending list of matching connectors!
PRO TIP #1 - Don't forget to budget for and order the connectors that match your sensors and outputs.
I will update this thread as I gather more information and/or parts as well as when I inevitably run into a question, issue, or realization that may help someone else.
Thanks!

Re: Haltech ELITE
Subscribed. I ran two different older haltech systems on my bug in the past.

Are you really going to splash out $1800 for an ECU ?

Re: Haltech ELITE
Already purchased.
I am paying for what I know works and what my tuner is comfortable with. This may not be the correct path for everyone, but it is the decision we’ve made. I have zero interest in “tinkering” with the tuning. The car will make good power with the combo chosen and will be tuned for excellent driveability. I am more interested in driveability and “set it and forget it” tuning ability than I am with all out HP.

Re: Haltech ELITE
The last set of DRD heads that I bought from Darren were lacking in quality, hope you have yours rebuilt to correct specs and better quality valves and guides than DRD used.
Good quality is getting harder and harder to find.

Can't wait to see how this progresses. I've also thought about taking the EFI route but have yet to pull the trigger.

Re: Haltech ELITE
So how did this go? I am thinking about going with the Haltech 1500 on a turbo 2.6L T4.
