Type 4 parts and long block needed

Post by Ephry73 »

So as it normally happens, the type 4 bug bit me again. Plan on building a semi-Mild motor cooled via DTM “OG” setup. Crazy as it sounds don’t have the vehicle for this yet but I’m collecting parts for the motor. Having done this a few times already I’m pretty set into what I need but as with all things VW and aircooled, the rabbit hole can take one place.

I plan on finding a decent 1700 block to build or run as is. Maybe turn into a 1911 with 1800 heads and mild cam and higher CR.

If a decent 103X71 comes my way I would love to build one for the daily driver duties.

If anyone has a block they’re not using or want to part with let me know.

103mm pistons and cylinders or any can or valve train gear not being used let me know.

Potential builds parts pending:

1700 higher cr for daily duty or
66x103 for weekend or the like duty
71X103 for daily duty (thinking EFI and digital ignition plus extra oiling for this as a daily)

In the past decade my daily commute and extras has only been 8,000 miles a year.

PM me if you have anything I could use or want to part with

E
