I promise I have searched but still can’t find anything specific to my application so my apologies before hand.
I have recently got into a VW love affair with my 71 Super. I’m looking to convert at least the fronts to disc and at the same time use a Wide 5 205 pattern for my Rader style wheels. Initially, I used a 4x130 to 5x205 adapter for the front drums but when changing to disc (4x130 pattern)..

the caliper was too wide and hit the adapter plate. I then purchased a Wide 5 rotor like this

and the caliper is still to wide to fit in the middle of the rotor.
Is there a different, thinner caliper which will work with what I currently have rotor wise? Any and all help is appreciated.

Re: 1971 Super Wide 5 Disc Conversion Help
I've thought about this idea a lot recently. I think I'd be cool to have wide five disc brakes with a set of those wide five steel look alloys that are often found on Porsche 356s. I tried to post a pic from my phone gallery but could figure out how.

Would this work. I've never played with the wide bolt pattern wheel conversion. This one claims 0 offset. Most of what I have seen claims up to 5/8" offset.

This one also claims 0 offset

Not sure I trust anything from Mid America anymore.
As far as offset of the brakes....I'd just play with wheel offsets to correct, if possible. Or, fender widths.
That all said, anything is doable, just may not be practical.

Just be aware: both in-setting and off-setting can cause problems especially when playing with the front geometry of a car.

Super Beetle in particular. Though not the early suspension so much as the late.Ol'fogasaurus wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2019 10:13 pm Just be aware: both in-setting and off-setting can cause problems especially when playing with the front geometry of a car.

Is there a thinner caliper or were they pretty much the same straight across the board?
