Hi guys....
Some assistance and guidence needed....
Some background...
I had a 1835 wich I broke as well as a 1914cc wich eventually broke years ago... I haven't driven my bug since.... But finally took it out of storage after 13 years.... So had it painted and busy assembling it... I've grown abit older so I would still like the bug to haul ... But i dont think I'll hammer the car all the time... So some weekend cruizing and occasional drags(maybe)..
These are the new parts I have so far for my engine build...
As41 case
94mahle pistons
82 cb crank
K10 cam
Scat1. 4 ratio rockers
Type 1 heads welded...42 by 37
44 empi Downdrafts....
My? S are as follows... Im based in South Africa so parts are quite expensive as our rand is quite poor to the dollar... But i have a buddy that stocks all cb parts..
Cam choice.. Is the k10 fine for a 1914 and a 2276?
How are these cams for daily use?
Will the carbs be enough for the 2276...
What kind of power am I looking at?
How can I make the engine abit bullet proof... If I need to tone down on certain parts I don't mind....
Your feedback will be appreciated.

With the parts you have I would go with a FK8 instead of FK10, especially for a 1915, the FK10 will be hard work in a true daily driver, the carbs will be ok on 2276 with around 8.8/1 compression and the FK8 will make a nice driver engine.

I've got unported CB 044's in 42x37 if you looking for good, non-welded heads. Also have the Mahle 94's in stock.
Its a good combo, but with that setup, you'll get more power 48mm carbs.
With a fk10 cam and our fuel, there is no reason not to run 9.5:1 CR or slightly higher.
I run 10:1 on my 2332 with a webcam 86C and 9:1 in my bus with a W110. Our fuel is pretty good
(I'm in CPT btw)

I’ve got a 2110 in my bay-window with an fk10, 42x37.5 ultra mag heads and IDA’s, no 3rd progression hole with 10:1cr. I love it! Proper rips when you wind it up (for a bus) drives pretty nice in traffic and town for what it is too.
That said, years ago I had an fk8, with 44’s and 40x35.5 heads on that engine. Lovely cam, really strong and crisp bottom end I found
