Hello everybody,
I am making a 914 gearbox to fit in a beetle, so I bought a bug@5speed nose cone, I was wondering what adjustments I yould have to do inorder to maintain proper clearance on the reverse idler . I installed the shaft from the 914 nose to the new nose. How must I determine if its ok or if its tight ?

There used to be a great tutorial on Germanlook.net.
There's a whole section that was maintained by them there.
Maybe it's still functional?
Maybe?
I remember having to saw the speedo drive gear clear off..?
Or something to that effect..
My build was a 915, so it might be different.
Hope this helps.
