CIP1 is selling thing/Ghia pan halves again... My one remaining functional neuron has a dim recollection those are the same as t3, or usable.
Anyone remember if that is the case?

I had a conversation last week with Alex Pegado at ISP who schooled me on the difference between type-3 and type 1 pans. The type 3 pans were made from a full width pan with the center tunnel welded on top. Therefore VW never made type-3 pan halves.
As far as I know type-3 halves are only made by one factory somewhere in South America.

Gerson sells really nice full pan halves for Type 3.
Really nice. Funky Green.
ISP sells the back half patch sections,
But haven't seen them IRL.
Ghia/Thing pans can be used, but require modification.

I grafted a gifted t1 battery repair section into mine, with material added where needed so it fit right...
Was just curious what mods the ghia/thing panels needed.
I recall they are basically the right shape overall.
