Scat 1.4 Rockers side movement all 0.027" shims?

Hi all,

I am building my 2110cc up and I picked up a new set of scat 1.4 ratio rockers wanted to shim them up to get the recommended side movement however when I opened the pack of Shims that came with there is only 0.027" shims included with it for adjustment how is it possible to get these shims to work to achieve the recommended 0.005" side movement?

I'm confused as I expected to have loads of shims different sizes to use to make up the exact side play required. When I look the the catalogue they only sell 8 0.027” shims too this is confusing as many people recommend these rockers, does anyone have any idea on what I can do?

I have cb 1.4's and they sell .015, .028 and .058(at least that's what they measure) you can only get so close with the shims, I recently just wet sanded some .028 shims down to .019 the .015 I had previously was giving me .010 side clearance so instead of living with it I put 6.5 hours into hand sanding them. You could do the same to the rocker blocks(probably easier on the finger tips.lol) you might get lucky with what you have try bolting them together and get a couple sets of feeler gauges out and see what you need

Bugguy1967 on theSamba sells shims in different thicknesses.
I bought a bunch from him when setting up my rockers.

Measure the diameter of your rocker shaft to make sure you get the correct ones and PM him on that other site.
He machined my rocker pads and lash caps for me.

Bugger sanding them down.
I'd knock some up out of phosphor bronze.
It shouldn't cost a fortune either even if you get them made at a shop.
Life's too short to be standing at a bench trying to sand washers.

Aircooled.net sells a variety of shim packs. Last time i did my Scat rocker shim job I had to clean up and slightly enlarge the ID and debur the shims.
