Bought our first Beetle today!
Runs really nice for a 53 year old car.
She's in great condition just a few little bits and bobs to sort out and could probably do with a tune up.
Hope to pick a few brains on here on general stuff and eventually some engine mods, 1300 to 1600 being the obvious one to start with.
Looking forward to being able to get out and meet a few bug heads in the locale. (Dorset)

Motor looks good & original.
Got all cooling tin in place which is always a good sign
Coil cover is very appropriate for Dorset

I’d get that rear window rubber replaced (can see cracking) to stop rain getting into the corners.
Custom& commercial have the best quality items but they can still be a challenge to fit if you’ve not done that before.

Good spot! I have already popped some silcone in there while I source a new rubber. Cheers.

Can be a ball-ache to fit.
Got a recent tip from someone who does them a lot.
When you use the cord to pull the rubber in, put a loop in the cord at the top hanging inside, along with the loose ends at the bottom. Then seat the rubber both top & bottom at the same time (bit at a time on each), before the sides.

Welcome to the forum, nice to see another Classic on the road in the uk!
Plenty of places to get the set of Cal-Look Rubbers.
Machine 7, Heritage etc..
Various quality though.
Stick with the German.
