irs trans

Post by smittysplace »

new guy here! bare with me its been a long time since I've been in the volksie world.
I've owned my 73 super since i could remember, my dad bought brand new in Germany. a/c and all.
still have it but haven't driven since 2013. it has a 1915 in it, really fun car.

I'm going to restore it again and I'm stockpiling parts again for how i really want it this time. came across a throw out bearing guide tube. is this normal because i don't recall ever seeing one on mine or the freeway flyer I'm putting in soon. any input will be appreciated. thank you for taking the time to help me out.

Guide tube appeared in 71 I think, so definitely on a 1973 car.

You should post pics of the trans you're going to put into your car. If it doesn't have a guide tube, there may be other things not compatible with your car.
