Mirror query

I am in the process of completing a costum-resto on a '69 ghia. Recently, I purchased the OEM mirrors from KGP&R for the car. Unfortunately, the car had after-market mirrors installed prior to my purchase and I am unsure of what's neccessary to install the OEM ones. Is their a screw that affixes the original ones to the door, or does the door has threads that original mirror screws into?

I put those on last year, now it's been a while but there is one big hole in the middle (may be about 20mm or so?!, don't cut till you confirm that!) and the base of the whole thing (looks like an eye) is held on by 2 screws.

If you need me too, I'll go downstairs and take it apart and take some detail pics, I don't remember it being that hard though
