Rear Windscreen question

Post by Goodwrench »

I have read some threads on the rear windscreen. Can someone refresh my memory as to the question of fit. I have a 74 coupe and may change out my rear windscreen but don't know if they all fit the same. Thanks for any assistance.

All Karmann Ghia coupe rear window glass is the same, from the first cars to the end of production.

I think the only difference for some of the later glass are the defrost lines on the glass. I have heard these are getting kind of rare. But yes, the coupe rear glass size was all the same.

Beware of the problems getting it in though, if you're using the stock trim piece in the molding. Old window=German. New Seal=American. Never the two shall meet. You can see detail here: http://www.ghiagirl.com/garage_07/g7f.htm
