Hopefully, this will be a real head turner. I wonder how much it will go for. It looks complete and rare!

That's the funny i've never seen a 59 ghia go for 34K. I just helped build a pan off resto with a mild custom 59 ghia which was just in the Feb issue of HotVW magizine and it just sold for 18K.And that same guy also sold a 62conv ghia pan-off resto to factory specs and sold for 22K.Who ever buys that thing is a sucker.Because i just bought one for $1800 just one mans 2 cent worth

No, he's talking about the $34,000 the seller claims he saw a '59 sell for. And isn't the 1958 "the most sought after and the rarest to find"?
Are those high-back seats original? Hmmm...
Is it really a "once in a lifetime" opportunity, since there's another one on ebay right now? (#2400433805). Book value on a 1959 Cabrio is $18,000.
Can't blame a guy for tryin'...

Yeah, I too feel like that buyer may have been taken a little. He ended up paying $3,900 for it and it obviously is in need of a COMPLETE restoration. As Jason said, "Nice Highbacks", what else has been changed out???
The seller gives VERY vague detail and no pictures of any real worth. E(vil)bay is the biggest example of Caveat Emptor ever!

Considering the shape of the car and the rarity, I'd consider the purchase price on the UPPER end of "fair". Restore the rockers? Why not fix 'em with fiberglass window screen and Bondo?! 8^) The fella may sure be in for a challenge; I hope that he does invest the time, effort and $ to bring it back to original proper factory conditon, or very close. Hmmm. I was born in '59; wonder what day it was built?!
