Can I out a 911 tranny in my early-1970 Ghia?
Ok, I know anything *can* be done. I guess what I'm asking is, can a home mechanic like myself with no machining tools do this out of his garage? I have a full mechanic's set of wrenches and other tools but no lathe or drill press. I also have a mig welder, if brackets needed to be fabbed.

Are you wanting to install a 5 speed? The early 911 tranny will go in -www.performanceghia.com/
or you can get a kit from Gene Berg

Thanks for the info. I would like to go with a 5 speed, and may be able to get an early 911 tranny. I'll check out the link. Good to know that the 911 is an option. Do you go with a Ghia clutch or a 911 clutch, or are they the same? Thanks again!
