Type 2 Carburation??

1972 Type 2 1700 Solex PDSIT 2 & 3.
Idles at 1800 rpm or so....
Idle system shut-off valve disabled and bullet valve removed.
Throttle butterfly set o.k.
Idle mixture adjustement has marginal effect.
Any ideas?

Or suggestion for alternative carbs (weber conversion not really wanted).

Rosie you might try checking for vacumn leaks in the intake system, tops and bottoms of the manifolds ect.Sometimes the fast idle is caused by leaks and is typlified by the accompanyment of popping as well. Good Luck, Bob.
